Everybody knows Michael Edwards got an absolute bargain for Liverpool last summer when he sold Rhian Brewster to Sheffield United for almost £24 million.
In 25 Premier League games this season, the 21-year-old striker has scored no goals for the relegated Blades.
Brewster might come good eventually but, for now, it looks an absolute steal for Liverpool.
And another potential Edwards bargain deserves a little more shine.
The Reds also sold Ki-Jana Hoever – who, like Brewster, hadn’t made his Premier League debut – to Wolverhampton Wanderers for some £13.5 million last summer.
And that too is looking like a bargain, evident by his performance in the defeat by Spurs on Sunday.
The 19-year-old was largely responsible for the second goal Wolves conceded in North London and here’s what Clinton Morrison said to BBC Radio 5 Live about his display: “Poor defending from Ki-Jana Hoever, he’s had a nightmare today, I don’t know what he’s trying to do, not strong enough.”
Like Brewster, he may go on to enjoy a stellar post-Liverpool career but for now, it has to be said that it’s looking like another tidy piece of business by Edwards.
