Some Leeds United fans on Twitter are gushing over Pascal Struijk’s performance against Manchester United this afternoon.
Elland Road played host as Leeds welcomed the old enemy to West Yorkshire in quite an underwhelming game which finished 0-0, considering there were eight goals in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford.
But there were some brilliant individual displays and one big reason for the Whites’ clean sheet was the 21-year-old defender.
Playing instead of the suspended Liam Cooper, the big Dutch centre-back, who stands at 6’3, posted a superb performance against some world-class attackers, but he never looked fazed, constantly composed for 90 minutes.

Struijk joined Leeds in 2019 and he just seems to be getting better and better.
Quite a lot of players were signed by Victor Orta with the intention of them going into the Under-23 side at the beginning and it must be refreshing for the Spanish director to see one of his investments come good on a stage like this.
At 21, Struijk clearly has a very bright future and it’ll be fascinating to see how much Bielsa can make him.
