Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after finding out that Rodrigo is also injured, along with Kalvin Phillips, Patrick Bamford and others.

What’s the story?

Well, Leeds posted an announcement earlier today, which was effectively an injury roundup given how much absentees there are.

Leeds fans already knew about Phillips and Bamford, while Robin Koch hasn’t played since the 5-1 defeat to Manchester United.

Koch has overcome his pelvic injury, but incredibly, the German has now been ill for the last ten days and is currently unavailable.

Liam Cooper, like Phillips and Bamford, has damaged his hamstring.

However, most of the reaction was aimed towards Rodrigo, as supporters weren’t even aware that the Spaniard had any problems at the moment.

It only adds to the misery at Elland Road right now.

Leeds claim that Rodrigo has been suffering from bilateral heel pain, and the medical team have decided he should rest for the sake of his long-term recovery.

This has been coming for a while now, and you would be naive to disagree.

In Marcelo Bielsa, Leeds have a seriously demanding manager who adopts an intense pressing style.

It takes an awful amount of work to maintain that style, and a tremendous amount of energy and endurance as well.

Additionally, the lack of recruitment from Victor Orta has left Bielsa with a very small squad, so there isn’t much rotation at Elland Road.

That, coupled with the style of play, means the Leeds players are becoming drained and weary, a point reinforced by the current injury crisis.

Now, Leeds must bring some fresh faces to Yorkshire in January, or there will be a serious risk of relegation, in our view.

For now, let’s see what the Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying about Rodrigo…
