Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after The Athletic revealed that Aston Villa’s FA Cup clash with Liverpool is set to go ahead.

The Villans were forced to close their Bodymoor Heath training centre after an outbreak of COVID-19 swept through the squad.

However, while Everton recently saw a Premier League game against Manchester City postponed for that reason, the FA Cup clash is still on.

How?

Well, as The Athletic‘s tweet shows, a few things will be different about the game at Villa Park.

Firstly, Under-23 coach Mark Delaney will oversee the game, as the entire first-team bubble will distance themselves from proceedings.

Villa will play an XI of youngsters if enough of them test negative – the game will go ahead permitting that happens.

Understandably, Everton fans are angry and confused.

Manchester City, despite having numerous cases, still had enough players to play their Premier League game against the Toffees.

In fact, given the quality of their squad, the Citizens probably still could’ve fielded an XI consisting mostly of world-class internationals.

Of course, the Premier League and the FA Cup are different competitions, with differing protocols.

However, that hasn’t stopped the Everton fans expressing their anger.

Let’s see what they’ve had to say in response to The Athletic’s tweet…
