Bertrand Traore is the latest player to be linked with a move to Aston Villa.
Foot Mercato reported on Saturday afternoon that Lyon had rejected a £15.7 million bid from Aston Villa for the 25-year-old winger, valued at £23 million.
According to the Daily Mail, the Villans were quick to return with an improved offer of around £19 million last night and it remains to be seen if Traore – reportedly keen to join the Premier League club – winds up coming.
The Burkina Faso international, who previously struggled at Chelsea, had a pretty dire season in Ligue 1 last term, scoring once and setting up three in 23 outings.
And although some Aston Villa fans don’t want him anywhere near Bodymoor Heath, many more are keen on the transfer to materialise.
Here’s how they’re reacting on Twitter to the rumour:
Aston Villa are also being linked with the signing of Milot Rashica and he, like Traore, is a wide player.
Having already splurged a combined £42 million on Ollie Watkins and Matty Cash, Villa boss Dean Smith might not have the funds to sign both the African star and Rashica.
