Rangers winger Jamie Murphy suffered a season ending knee injury back in August.

It was a disaster for the star, who had just clinched a permanent move to Ibrox after a loan last season.

The only positive for manager Steven Gerrard was that Rangers had enough attacking options that Gers fans hoped Murphy’s absence could be glossed over.

Now into December, Murphy’s loss is beginning to show up.

Star loanee Ryan Kent has suffered with injuries and will miss this week’s Europa League decider against Rapid Vienna.

New signing Eros Grezda has struggled, barring one false dawn against Motherwell.

Youngster Glenn Middleton has been the biggest bright spot out wide, but Rangers cannot expect him to play 90 minutes twice a week, every week.

Rangers would be stronger with Murphy in the squad, as demonstrated by the recent draw with Dundee and loss to Aberdeen.

Murphy scored once and provided three assists in eight games prior to his injury, averaging a goal every other match.

Rangers could do with this sort of impact right now.
