Aberdeen defender Scott McKenna comments on Mikael Lustig’s celebration for Celtic in the Scottish League Cup final.

McKenna was not impressed with Lustig’s celebration following Celtic’s 1-0 win against Scottish Premiership rivals Aberdeen in the final of the Scottish League Cup back in December 2018.
Ryan Christie’s goal in the fifth minute of first-half injury time proved to be the difference between the two sides.
Celtic will take on Aberdeen in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup this weekend, and ahead of the match, McKenna has criticised 32-year-old Celtic and Sweden international right-back for the way he celebrated against his team.
McKenna told The Scottish Sun: “What happened at the League Cup Final was disappointing. Lustig was right in Fergie’s face, a 19-year-old boy.
“Lustig’s an experienced player, there was no need to do it. Celtic had won the cup, they had beaten us, and to try and rub it into someone that young was not right.”

2018 Celtic interest
Interestingly, McKenna was linked with a move from Aberdeen to Celtic in the summer of 2018.
Back in August 2018, then Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers – now in charge of Premier League club Leicester City – told BBC Sport that he wanted to sign the 22-year-old Scotland international defender.
It was reported by BBC Sport that Aberdeen had turned down a £3.5 million bid from the Hoops for the youngster.
