The Sunderland midfielder was a target for the Scottish Premiership side.

Aberdeen’s pursuit of the Sunderland midfielder, Dylan McGeouch, may be over.
According to the Daily Record, Aberdeen have turned their attentions to the Scunthorpe United midfielder, Funso Ojo, after hitting a brick wall in their McGeouch pursuit.
And the newspaper claims the Dons look set to beat the Sunderland man’s former club, Hibernian, to Ojo’s signature, in a £150,000 deal.
Whether or not Hibs now move for McGeouch remains to be seen.

Although, speaking earlier this week, the Sunderland manager, Jack Ross, told the Echo that having taken the option to extend the 26-year-old’s contract by a further year at the start of the summer, both he and McGeouch hope that the can prove himself at the Stadium of Light this season.
Sunderland fought off competition to sign McGeouch at the end of his Hibernian contract a year ago, but he only has two assists to show for his 21 starts last term.
