Sunderland are reportedly keen on Aberdeen’s Scott Wright.

Sunderland completed one signing on Monday by landing defender Joel Lynch on a free transfer, but Jack Ross remains in the hunt for new signings.

Another left back is needed, but Sunderland may also look towards another winger, as loanee Lewis Morgan returned to Celtic this summer.

Ross may once again look to the Scottish market for an addition, and Aberdeen’s Scott Wright is allegedly a target for the Black Cats.

The Scottish Sun claim that Sunderland want Wright for around £500,000, but will face competition from League One rivals Ipswich Town for his signature.

Wright, 22, has come up through the ranks with hometown club Aberdeen, but has so far managed just 41 league appearances for the Dons.

He did show some promise on loan at Dundee last season, hitting three goals in 13 games, and that may be enough for Ross to go for the winger.

Aberdeen fans are taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, suggesting that they should ‘take the money and run’ as Wright hasn’t done anything of note for their first team.

Others find the rumour ‘random’ and don’t think he’s good enough, even replying to rumours about Ipswich’s interest and begging them to take him, which may leave Sunderland fans a little worried.
