Rangers raiding Aberdeen always sparks controversy given the rivalry between the two sides – and it could well happen again.

Dons fans were raging when Ryan Jack – one of their own – snubbed new deals to stay at Pittodrie in order to join Rangers on a free transfer in 2017.

Leaving Aberdeen for Rangers really doesn’t go down well, but Scott Wright may do it amid rumours he’s heading to Ibrox.

Sky Sports reported on Monday that Rangers are ready to make a pre-contract offer to Wright in the hope of luring him to Glasgow inside the final six months of his deal.

The Scottish Sun added that Aberdeen now expect Wright to sign that pre-contract deal, with Rangers possibly trying to pull off a cut-price deal after that.

The 23-year-old is quick, tricky and capable of playing on either flank, whilst his status as a homegrown player in Europe will be appealing over the likes of Brandon Barker and Jordan Jones.

Wright has bagged two goals and five assists in 16 games this season, and whilst Rangers fans seem encouraged, Aberdeen fans are not happy.

Some wish that Wright was signing for anybody but Rangers due to the rivalry between the two sides, whilst also feeling that he won’t play regularly for Rangers.

Others joked that the situation is a ‘shambles’, and would take Jordan Jones in a swap deal if he really has to leave this month.
