Ryan Christie celebrates scoring for Celtic
Aberdeen hammered Motherwell 7-2 at Pittodrie on Wednesday evening, with on-loan playmaker Ryan Christie stealing the show with a stunning goal.
The Dons raced into a 4-0 lead by half time as Jonny Hayes, Andrew Considine and Adam Rooney all found the net, before Christie scored his goal of the season contender.
Receiving the ball on the edge of the box, Christie nonchalantly chipped goalkeeper Craig Samson with a first time shot with the outside of his left foot.
Aberdeen made it 6-0 in the second half as Rooney completed his hat-trick with two goals, and whilst Ryan Bowman and Stephen Pearson grabbed goals back for Motherwell, Peter Pawlett made it 7-2 late on.
Christie’s goal stole the show though, and that’s now two goals in his last two games for Aberdeen, with the playmaker impressing since joining on loan from Celtic.
General View of Pittodrie Stadium
The 21-year-old midfielder is being tipped for a huge future with the Bhoys, but having struggled for first-team football this season, he has been farmed out on loan to Aberdeen for the rest of the season.
After his performance against Motherwell, fans took to Twitter to hail Christie’s display, suggesting that they want to see him sign permanently after scoring a sublime goal and making a strong start to life at Pittodrie.
Former Dons goalkeeper Jamie Langfield also took to Twitter to react to Christie’s goal, suggesting it was good enough to grace any league in world football.
