Mark Warburton’s Glasgow Rangers, Aberdeen and Heart of Midlothian are aiming to finish second in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Aberdeen defender Shay Logan has told The Daily Record that he and his teammates are determined to finish second in the Scottish Premiership this season ahead of Rangers.

Celtic are firm favourites to win the league title this season, with as many as three other teams fighting for the second place.

Mark Warburton’s Rangers, Heart of Midlothian and Aberdeen are the three sides aiming to end up second.

Rangers started this weekend’s round of matches is second place, but Aberdeen defender Logan has stated that his team are determined to take that position.

“It is a competitive league but it was a strong division last season,” Logan told The Daily Record.

“Rangers have brought quality into the league and they will be looking to get that second spot.

“It is going to be a good fight and one that we are more than capable of dealing with but we need to let results do the talking.

“You never count yourself out of the title race but if we can’t do that then we want to finish in second spot.”

Aberdeen finished second in the Scottish Premiership last season, while Hearts ended up third.

Both Aberdeen and Hearts have good teams, and so do Rangers, who gained automatic promotion from the Scottish Championship at the end of last season.

Warburton’s Rangers have some very good players in their squad, and given the fanbase they have, they will be determined to finish second.

Rangers will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Ross County away from home at the Global Energy Stadium in the Scottish Premiership.
