Free agent Robert Snodgrass could now be tempted to join Aberdeen with former Celtic captain Scott Brown looking to help get the deal done.
That’s according to the Daily Record, who claim that Brown is trying to help lure Snodgrass to Pittodrie.
Boss Stephen Glass has made Snodgrass a key target following his release from West Bromwich Albion last week.
Aberdeen was now hoping to fend off competition from England by utilising Brown’s friendship with Snodgrass.
The pair are believed to be close from their time together in the Scottish national team, and could now reunite at Aberdeen.
It’s also worth noting that Snodgrass is a lifelong Celtic fan, meaning he will have watched and admired Brown during his time as Bhoys captain.
Celtic made an offer to sign Snodgrass in 2020, but that didn’t happen and the Bhoys aren’t expected to be back in this time.
Hibernian and Dundee may be interested too, but it looks like Aberdeen are the most likely destination for Snodgrass if he returns to Scotland.

Snodgrass, 34, was a prominent figure in English football with Leeds United, Norwich City, Hull City, West Ham United and Aston Villa.
Since joining West Brom in January 2021 though, Snodgrass has struggled to find top form and has now been axed by the Baggies.
What is interesting is that West Brom have since appointed Steve Bruce as their new boss. Bruce signed Snodgrass for both Hull City and Aston Villa, so it will be fascinating to see if there is a route back to West Brom.
That seems unlikely, and with the veteran winger now available for nothing, reuniting with Brown at Aberdeen could be very appealing.
