Leeds United have been linked with double striker move.
Leeds United fans have been concerned for months about rumours linking the club with a move for Jerry Mbakogu.
Reports in Italy, via Gazzamercato, have claimed Leeds are willing to spend between £3-4 million on Mbakogu, making him their most expensive striker signing for over a decade.
His record this season is not great, playing for Italian Serie B side Carpi he has scored just six league goals and been dogged by a knee injury.
Meanwhile Leeds have been linked with a stunning move to sign Uruguayan international striker Abel Hernandez.
The Yorkshire Evening Post reported last week that Leeds are trying to sign Hernandez as a free agent, with his contract at Hull City running down.
Hernandez is good enough to play for a Premier League side and to sign him on a free would be a stunning coup and set them up for promotion nicely.
If Leeds can pull off a deal for Hernandez, then spending money to sign Mbakogu would not seem so bad.
Mbakogu would then be worth a gamble, especially as they would have been able to sign Hernandez without paying a fee.
Signing him as their main striker would be a worry, but in support of Hernandez, it could be a risk worth taking.
