Leeds fans have not given up on Abel Hernandez joining.

Leeds United have so far fallen short of bringing in top transfer targets Abel Hernandez and Matej Vydra.

The only good news is that no other club has snapped them up either, giving fans a slither of hope that their hopes may yet be fulfilled.

Hernandez is currently a free agent, yet to agree a deal with any club, 12 days after his contract with Hull City expired.

It is a surprising situation for a player who scored eight goals in 10 games at the end of last season.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reported Leeds in ‘advanced talks’ with Hernandez several weeks ago, but there has been no tangible progress.

Hernandez is staying positive, sending a message on Twitter illustrating his upbeat mood by flashing a big smile.

His message drew responses from Leeds fans, some of who urged him to sign while others cracked jokes.

Hernandez is also reported to have an option to sign for Russian side CSKA Moscow, Tuttomercatoweb reported last week.

The latest club interested are AEK Athens, report In AEK.
