Leeds United’s hopes of signing Hull City striker Abel Hernandez have been boosted.

Hull City striker Abel Hernandez has taken to Twitter in order to confirm that he is leaving the club on a free transfer this summer after failing to agree a new contract.
Hernandez, 27, joined Hull from Palermo back in 2014 having built up an impressive reputation in Italy, but his time at the KCOM Stadium has been somewhat up-and-down.
The Uruguayan hitman managed just four goals in the Premier League during the 2014-15 season, but hit back in the 2015-16 campaign as he fired 20 league goals to send Hull back to the top flight.

Again though, Hernandez only managed four goals in the Premier League, and missed most of this season in the Championship before returning to score five goals in seven games.
Hernandez ended the season with eight Championship goals, and it will prove to be his final campaign as a Hull player as he will move on this summer, as the player has confirmed on his official Twitter account.
Hernandez took to Twitter late on Saturday night to thank Hull fans for their support before confirming that he hasn’t agreed a new contract, and as a free agent he will be heading elsewhere.
Hernandez’s announcement will come as a major boost to Leeds United, as the Yorkshire Evening Post recently reported that the Whites are drawing up a contract offer to lure the striker to Elland Road this summer.
That offer may now have been submitted, but with Hull out of the way, Leeds may well fancy their chances of landing a major coup by bringing Hernandez to West Yorkshire to lead their attack next season.
