Aston Villa-owned Aaron Tshibola played well for Kilmarnock against Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic last weekend.
Tshibola, who returned to Kilmarnock on loan from Villa in the Championship in England in the summer transfer window, is confident that he and his teammates can give Celtic a run for their money.
The 23-year-old midfielder joined Villa from Reading in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by Get Reading to be worth £5 million.
The DR Congo international played well during Kilmarnock’s 2-1 win against Celtic at Rugby Park in the Scottish Premiership last weekend.
Tshibola told The Scottish Sun: “We were eighth or ninth before the Celtic game and the win took us to fourth.
“You can really move up in this league and it only takes one game so we’ve got a real good opportunity here.
“If we want to be ambitious, we’ve got to feel we have a real opportunity in this next run of games to take some points.
“Personally, I’ve got belief in myself as a player. Celtic are a great team with some good players but it doesn’t scare me.
“I’ve come up against some good players down in England so I don’t have too much fear.”
Confidence
While Tshibola is clearly very confident about Kilmarnock, the fact of the matter is that Celtic are still the best and strongest team in Scotland.
True, Brendan Rodgers’s side are not having a great time at the moment, but given the quality of players the Glasgow giants have, it is only a matter of time before they go on a long winning run in the Scottish Premiership.
