Aaron Tshibola rejoins Aston Villa from MK Dons

Aaron Tshibola has rejoined Aston Villa early from his loan at MK Dons.

Aston Villa midfielder Aaron Tshibola has rejoined Steve Bruce’s side despite joining League One outfit MK Dons on a season-long loan in the summer, according to the club’s official Twitter account.

The 22-year-old was expected to remain with Robbie Neilson’s side until the end of the 2017-18 season, but it appears that his form has not been good enough for the third-tier outfit.

Making 16 appearances in all competitions this season, former Reading midfielder Tshibola managed just one goal in the Checkatrade Trophy against Brighton’s Under-23 side.

Now, Villa revealed on Twitter that the midfielder has returned to Villa Park six months before his loan was supposed to finish, with his future now in doubt ahead of the January transfer window.

Last month, Tshibola was guilty of the quickest red card in League One this season, shown his marching orders in the fifth minute of MK Dons’ 4-1 loss to Bradford City.

Signed by Villa in the summer of 2016 by Roberto Di Matteo for £5million, it appears that the midfielder is worth just a fraction of that figure and will have to do plenty of work to prove to Bruce that he has what it takes to challenge for a spot in the Villa side.
