The Aston Villa midfielder joined Forest on loan until the end of the season on Monday.
Aaron Tshibola has given his first impressions of Nottingham Forest after joining the club on loan from Aston Villa, suggesting that the East Midlands club can challenge to secure a play-off spot, as reported by the Birmingham Mail.
Tshibola joined Forest until the end of the season on Monday to become their second signing of the January transfer window after the loan arrival of Joao Teixeira.
The 22-year-old only joined Villa in the summer in a £5 million deal from Reading, and was initially a regular under previous boss Roberto di Matteo.
However, he fell out of favour under Steve Bruce and, after featuring in just three games since mid-October, has now been allowed to depart temporarily in search of regular football.
After sealing his move to the City Ground, Tshibola voiced his pleasure at joining Forest and his certainty that the club can challenge for a play-off berth.
He said, via the Birmingham Mail: “There is a good bunch of lads in the dressing room with a good vibe. I’m ambitious and I don’t see why we can’t push for top six.
“We can string a few results together and get higher in the league. There are some good players here and morale is good at the club.
“Everything has been positive at the club since I have come in. The lads are focused on results and putting performances in.”
That may seem a bold call from Tshibola, given Forest’s current form. They sacked manager Philippe Montanier a fortnight ago with the club winless in seven Championship matches.
Since then, under caretaker Gary Brazil, they have rallied slightly with a first win since early December, although they went down 2-0 to Leeds United last Wednesday to fall to 19th in the table, some 15 points off a top-six spot.
