Aaron Tshibola, now on loan at Kilmarnock, joined Aston Villa from Reading in the summer of 2016.
Much was expected of Aaron Tshibola when he moved to Aston Villa from Reading in the summer of 2016 for a transfer fee reported by Get Reading to be worth £5 million.
The midfielder had shown his quality and calibre at Reading, and the youngster was expected to be a massive success at Villa.
However, the 23-year-old has struggled to make an impact at Villa Park and is now on loan at Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.
In fact, the DR Congo international midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Kilmarnock as well.
Tshibola also had loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Milton Keynes Dons in 2017, and has managed to make just a handful of first-team appearances for the Villans so far in his career.
The 23-year-old has suggested to The Scottish Sun that maybe the timing of his move to Villa was not right, and maybe there is a hint of regret in his decision to switch to the Villans so early in his career.
The DR Congo international, though, does not seem to have closed the door on Villa, and perhaps after his loan spell at Kilmarnock, he will get a chance at the Villans next season.
Tshibola told The Scottish Sun about his move to Villa: “It was a learning curve and I met some great people and players there – it’s a massive club. Maybe it wasn’t the right timing for me, who knows? We’ll see what the future holds.”
