Ramsey returned to the starting line-up for the 3-2 win over Ludogorets in the Champions League.

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has told the official Arsenal website that his start against Ludogorets puts him good shape.

Ramsey played 75 minutes of the Gunners Champions League game in Bulgaria which saw them come from 2-0 down to win 3-2, and secure their place in the knock-out rounds of the competition with two games to spare.

It was his first start since the opening day defeat to Liverpool in the Premier League and the aim for the player is to get some more minutes under his belt.

As for the side, the win allows them to continue the momentum of a good start to the season which also sees them setting the pace along with Manchester City and Liverpool in the league this season, and Arsenal will be looking to get a big win on Sunday when they face north London rivals Tottenham at the Emirates Stadium.

Ramsey told Arsenal.com: “I’m delighted to be back. It was a bit of a blow [to be injured] but that was what I needed tonight – to start a game and get those minutes under my belt. That’ll set me in good shape now and my target is to just stay fit and play as much as I can.

“We’re on a strong run at the moment and we’re looking forward to the north London derby on Sunday. It was important to keep the momentum going tonight and we come through with a win so we’re in good shape going into that game and hopefully we can come away with a win there as well.”

It’s welcome for Arsenal to have Ramsey back in the side, as he’s player with several good qualities including his eye for goal, movement, passing as well as his intelligence. It also gives Arsene Wenger another option for his side, though given how well the side is playing as a whole, he has a fight on his hands to get a regular starting spot.

The manner of the win over Ludogorets – though not exactly ideal in terms of being 2-0 down – certainly keeps that momentum going and shows there is some character to this Arsenal side, presently. Confidence should be high going into the weekend’s big game.
