Newcastle United have been linked with a move for Juventus misfit Aaron Ramsey – and he could soon become a free agent for January.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who claim that Juventus are discussing terminating Ramsey’s contract.
Talks are allegedly ongoing with Ramsey’s camp in the hope of reaching a resolution and getting him off the Juventus books.
Juventus will have to pay up though. Ramsey earns around €10million-a-year at Juventus, which works out to around £165,000-a-week.
Ramsey unsurprisingly wants a hefty severance package if his contract is to be terminated. His current deal still has more than 18 months left to run.
Ramsey has managed just one Serie A start this season and played a total of 97 Serie A minutes.
Newcastle’s interest in Ramsey
A return to the Premier League would surely appeal to Ramsey is he is indeed released.
The strongest link so far has been with Newcastle United, who have cash available after their Saudi-led takeover.

Tuttosport reported last month that Newcastle’s new owners PIF aren’t put off by Ramsey’s wage demands.
This new report claims Ramsey’s wages are even lower than Tuttosport claimed.
If Newcastle want Ramsey, they will have to pay big wages – no matter what his current earnings are at Juventus.
What would really help is if Ramsey is available for free – and that could happen with Juventus seemingly growing tired of the Welshman.
