Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told the club’s official website that Aaron Ramsdale and Bernd Leno are fantastic goalkeepers.
Arteta made the comments about Ramsdale and Leno ahead of the Premier League game between Arsenal and Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium on Friday evening.
The Gunners will come up against Emiliano Martinez in the Premier League tomorrow.
The Argentina international goalkeeper left Arsenal for Villa in the summer of 2020.
Bernd Leno was the first-choice goalkeeper at the Gunners at the time.
Arsenal signed Ramsdale from Sheffield United in the summer of 2021.
And now the Englishman is the first-choice goalkeeper, with Leno his back-up.

Arteta told the club’s official website: “We have two fantastic goalkeepers and we have another two academy players behind them. I think we are really strong in that position at the moment.”
Aaron Ramsdale over Bernd Leno
Leno is a very good goalkeeper and is very experienced.
We must not forget that.

However, in our view, Ramsdale is a better option at the moment and has deservedly established himself as the number one between the posts.
The 23-year-old is good with his feet, commands his penalty area well, claims crosses with confidence, and is a leader at the back.
We think that Ramsdale will be the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal for the foreseeable future.
