Aaron Ramsdale has told Peter Crouch’s Around the Block on BT Sport that Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko have had a “crazy” impact on Arsenal training since the duo arrived at the club from Manchester City in the summer.
Jesus, a £45million signing and Zinchenko, a £32million arrival, were the two eye-catching bits of business from Arsenal in the most-recent window. They have both started superbly, with Jesus having a hand in seven goals in seven games.
The Gunners sit at the top of the Premier League table with six wins from seven games. On Saturday, they come up against one of the two unbeaten sides in England’s top tier – in the form of London rivals Arsenal at The Emirates.
Speaking to Crouch on BT Sport, England goalkeeper Ramsdale was asked about the impact of Arsenal’s summer signings. He highlighted Jesus and Zinchenko as completely transforming Arsenal training with their winning mentality.

“It’s crazy how the two players, Alex and Gabby Jesus, they have brought something different. The only way I can describe, a winning mentality. They want to win every time. They’ve been doing it everyday. It has lifted the training.”
Ramsdale: Jesus and Zinchenko have had crazy impact on Arsenal training
Jesus has been incredible. He finally gives Arsenal a striker that can score goals on a regular basis in the Premier League. Last season, Eddie Nketiah did it towards the end of the season – while Alexandre Lacazette struggled to do so.
Zinchenko, meanwhile, solves the issues Mikel Arteta had at left-back. Kieran Tierney has struggled with injury since joining the club, while Nuno Tavares was poor in his first season. The latter has since gone on loan to Marseille.
With Zinchenko and Jesus on board at Arsenal, they look good for a place in the top four this season. Whether they can maintain their league form, and still prove competitive in Europe, remains to be seen.
