Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has told ESPN that Tottenham star Richarlison is a “wind-up merchant” and knows how to get “under your skin” – but says it does not always work in his favour. True, after his recent explosive interview.
Richarlison, 25, has endured a difficult week. It comes after being dropped against Wolves and then Milan. Speaking after the 0-0 draw with Milan, which saw Spurs knocked out of the Champions League – he let loose on Antonio Conte.
The Brazil star said he could not understand being dropped by Conte. He was frustrated that when asked why he had been axed, he was told nothing. The Spurs manager retaliated by saying that Spurs ace Richarlison was being “selfish”.
Now, Ramsdale has put North London rivalry aside to give his honest verdict on Richarlison. Asked about the Spurs star and his renowned ability to wind players up, Ramsdale said the Brazil star knows how to get under people’s skin.

“Wind-up merchant, he knows how to get under people’s skin. Sometimes it is his to his advantage and sometimes it’s not. It can either bite you in the bum or work in your favour. There have been times where it has worked in his favour.”

Richarlison likes to play on the edge. He was excellent from the off against Nottingham Forest on Saturday and while it will have been frustrating not to have scored his first goal in the Premier League for Spurs – his display was superb.
It came after his comments about Conte, Conte’s retaliation and that many were talking about him. All eyes were on him and that is when Richarlison shines. Hopefully, that is the Richarlison that Spurs fans can get to see more of.
