Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has told ESPN that Everton star Jordan Pickford is “cheeky” but his wind-up antics are “caught on camera” more often than most – amid reports that Tottenham want to sign England’s no.1 goalkeeper.

Pickford, 29, is renowned for his on-field antics. Whether it is constantly bellowing at his defenders when conceding a goal, his ice-cold face in the penalty shootout against Colombia, time-wasting against Liverpool – or Virgil van Dijk.

But there is no doubt that Pickford is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League. He recently signed a new deal at Everton, even with the Toffees embroiled in a fight against the drop. That might not stop Tottenham in the summer.

The Sun report that Tottenham are still interested in Pickford despite his new deal – with Everton wanting a figure in the region of £35million. Ramsdale was asked about Pickford’s wind-up antics, and he filed Pickford under “cheeky”.

“Jordan is not too bad in game. The things he has done have been caught on camera a bit more than most, probably. Like falling on the floor at Liverpool. Other than that, you don’t hear too much about him. He’s cheeky,” Ramsdale said.

Tottenham need a goalkeeper, so why not the country’s best in terms of England’s no.1? Pickford is a top, top stopper and Gareth Southgate’s most-trusted man. Above, Ramsdale. At £35m, Pickford would be a wonderful Spurs signing.

Hugo Lloris could remain at Spurs in the summer but the belief is, the captain will be replaced. It is believed he is past his best and Pickford would be ideal as a replacement. But if Everton stay up, and he has signed a deal – he might stay.
