In an interview with ESPN, Aaron Ramsdale raved about fellow Arsenal teammate William Saliba’s displays since returning from Marseille on loan.
The best centre-back in the Premier League this season?
The French international’s staggering impact is evident on this Gunners side, who have conceded the joint-least number of goals (11) in the league this campaign.
At just 21 years of age and without any prior experience of playing in the Premier League, the youngster has looked right at home for Mikel Arteta’s side at the highest level.
Saliba’s sublime ball-playing ability, flawless reading of the game and physical dominance have been heralded as traits that make him destined to reach the very top.

So much so that the former Saint-Etienne sensation has been described as the “best defender in the entire Premier League” by former Tottenham right-back Pascal Chimbonda, as reported by the Metro.
Ramsdale heaps praise on Saliba
When quizzed about the wonderkid’s impact on this Arsenal side, Aaron Ramsdale did not shy away from giving his teammate his due credit.
“A man mountain, honestly. He glides across the pitch, doesn’t seem to sprint. He [Saliba] gets his big arm across people. The guy, he’s got everything honestly and he’s showing it on the pitch”, he told ESPN.
The England international continued, “He’s keeping some of the best strikers in the league quiet at the minute and all the credit goes to him.”
It’s next to impossible to disagree with Aaron Ramsdale’s assessment of William Saliba, who has been a revelation for the league leaders this season.
