While Burnley’s defensive displays this season have been widely praised, it is clear that Sean Dyche’s side have struggled at times in a creative sense.

It appears that Burnley are now seeking to address that issue in the transfer window, with the club having been linked with a move for Everton winger Aaron Lennon, as reported by The Daily Mail.

Lennon possesses a vast amount of Premier League experience, and, while his end product hasn’t been especially effective this season – he has yet to to score and has provided two assists in the top flight – many of his overall performances have been rather encouraging.

The 30-year-old’s directness can cause problems for opposing defences and he would surely relish the opportunity to be a regular starter – something which is unlikely to be the case should he remain at Everton.

Having demonstrated just how resolute they can be defensively, the key now for Burnley is to show that they are also capable of providing a major threat at the other end of the pitch.

Bringing in Lennon would be a positive move, and signing a striker would also be hugely beneficial for Dyche’s team.
