Aaron Lennon has spoken out after clinching a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Everton new boy Aaron Lennon suggests his new club Everton are a good fit for him.

Speaking to the club website for the first time after clinching his move from Tottenham Hotspur, he praised Roberto Martinez’s attacking football, and his own desire to make an impact.

He said: “I’m really looking forward to seizing this opportunity at a club with such a history and with such great potential, too.

“The manager wants to play exciting, attacking football and I’m determined to make a big contribution over the remaining games.”

Over the last two seasons, since Roberto Martinez took over at Goodison Park, Everton have actually scored more goals than Lennon’s former side Tottenham, ranking sixth overall in terms of goals scored.

Everton have even created more goalscoring chances than Manchester United during this period, and Lennon should fit in well for his new side.

He is a particularly attacking winger, who has had a tricky couple of seasons due to niggling injuries and then simply not being selected by former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Everton have had a poor season so far, sitting outside the top 10 places in the Premier League. If they can get Lennon back to his best, which saw him become an important member of the England squad, he can become a major asset for them.
