The West Ham United players put in a real shift against Liverpool on Monday night.

West Ham ace Aaron Cresswell spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s fine performance against Liverpool on Monday night, and shared what he and his teammates asked each other in the dressing room after the match, as quoted by the club’s official website.

The Hammers currently sit in 12th spot in the Premier League table, six points adrift of seventh placed Wolverhampton Wanderers, with their chances of challenging for the Europa League spots being undermined by inconsistency.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men really are a force to be reckoned with on their day, but they just haven’t shown that kind of form on a consistent enough basis this season.

Cresswell told reporters how after the Liverpool draw, he and his West Ham teammates asked each other why they cannot play like that all of the time, as quoted by the club’s official website:

Mark Noble and Aaron Cresswell have a laugh during a training session as part of the West Ham Pre-Season Tour to Switzerland on July 3, 2018 in Bad Ragaz, Switzerland.

“We’ve said in the dressing room why can’t we play like that all the time? We need to be a big team before we step up to the plate. We did well. We fully deserved the point and could have got more.”

Next up for West Ham is a trip to Crystal Palace this weekend, and it will be interesting to see whether Pellegrini’s men match the effort that they displayed at the London Stadium on Monday night.

Now the Hammers have shown what they are capable of, there is no excuse for not reaching those levels every week.
