The West Ham United ace returned to action on Monday night.
West Ham ace Aaron Cresswell spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s 1-1 draw with Stoke City on Monday night, and raved about the quality of Andy Carroll, suggesting that he is one of the best at what he does, as quoted by the club’s official website.
The Hammers hitman had been out of action since January, before coming on as an 86th minute substitute against the Potters, and went on to score a vital equaliser for his side.
There is no doubting Carroll’s ability. He is arguably the best target man in the Premier League, and offers his side something completely different when he is on the pitch.
The 29-year-old has suffered horrendous luck with injuries over the last few years, however, and they have really hampered his progress during his time in east London.
Cresswell spoke to reporters after Carroll’s superb strike against Stoke on Monday night, and offered high words of praise for the big Geordie, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“Andy’s come back today and showed us what he’s all about. I’m delighted for Andy. Of course, no one wants to be injured, and he had a frustrating time with injuries, but he’s come back and in five minutes he’s scored a goal. Everyone know what he’s about and when he’s fully fit he’s one of the best at what he does.”
West Ham still have five league games remaining this season, and Carroll will be hoping to finish the season in fine style.
If the Hammers ace manages to prove his fitness between now and the end of the season, he might just be in with a shout of making England’s World Cup squad.
