The West Ham United defender is set to return to first-team action after the international break.
West Ham United defender Aaron Cresswell has told the club’s official website that he is looking forward to his first game at the London Stadium.
The defender has been a key player for the Hammers over the last two seasons, particularly impressing under manager Slaven Bilic last year.
He has missed the beginning of this campaign, though, after a knee ligament injury picked up in pre-season ruled him out.
That means that he has missed the chance to turn out at the Hammers’ new home of the London Stadium.
He is in line to make his return to the first-team setup when West Ham take on Crystal Palace following the international break and he has told the club’s official website he cannot wait to run out at their new stadium.
“I am really looking forward to walking out the tunnel in front of 60,000 fans and it is something you dream of,” he said.
“The new Stadium is fantastic and when you look around the place it is everything that you could ask for.”
“I can just imagine when we have the really big games and I know the atmosphere is going to be unbelievable and it will be special.”
West Ham will now be hoping that Cresswell can return to the kind of form he was enjoying before his injury.
He has been a key player in the side over the last two years and his absence has been sorely felt at the beginning of this campaign.
Patience will be needed, though, with the defender likely to need time to get back towards his best after such an injury.
