Graham was linked with Rangers ahead of his move to Blackburn Rovers – could new boss Pedro Caixinha finally bring him to Ibrox this summer?

It’s approaching a year since Rangers were linked with a move for Blackburn Rovers striker Danny Graham (Scottish Sun), whose name has perhaps been forgotten by the Ibrox faithful.

However, with Tony Mowbray’s team facing relegation this season, could the Geordie be back on the Gers’ radar over the coming months?

How’s he been doing?

Despite having scored his first goal since January on Saturday (he’s been in and out with injuries in fairness) Graham has amassed a thoroughly respectable tally of 12 goals in 34 league outings for what has been a struggling side throughout. He’s also weighed in with six assists.

Do Rangers still need him?

Kenny Miller has reportedly been offered a new contract, but isn’t getting any younger. And while Rangers have other options in the shape of Martyn Waghorn and Joe Dodoo, the pair are perhaps a little too lightweight to lead the line themselves. Graham could be the perfect focal point for both players to play off.

Could they get him this summer?

Graham is undoubtedly among Blackburn’s highest earners and his salary is one they could perhaps do without in League One. His contract’s up next summer (although he does have a year’s option) and they could lose him for nothing if they don’t sell him soon.

Likelihood: 6/10 – Rangers’ interest in Graham is likely to have stemmed from Mark Warburton’s past relationship with the 31-year-old and it remains to be seen whether new boss Pedro Caixinha even knows who he is. Even if he did, wages could be an issue. But the Gers could certainly do worse.
