The Nigerian international has experienced an exceptional turnaround at Stamford Bridge.

A year ago today Sky Sports reported that West Ham had decided to not sign three of their loanees on full-time deals, with Slaven Bilic not sufficiently impressed by their performances at the club.

Two of those players, West Ham fans will not regret. Alex Song and Emmanuel Emenike did not shine bright last season and Hammers fans were accepting of their respective exits.

However, the loss of Victor Moses is less likely to go down well. West Ham could have signed him permanently in the summer, but he had minimal impact with the club.

He headed back to Chelsea and the general consensus was, he’d move elsewhere.

But Antonio Conte gave him a chance. The Italian saw something in Moses for his plans at Chelsea and it has worked. The Blues are top of the Premier League with Moses playing a key role in their success, featuring 31 times and scoring four goals for the club in what is looking increasingly likely to be a title-winning campaign.

West Ham have struggled to meet their high standards of last term and having a player in the form Moses has been in would have been a massive boost.
