The Rangers star has not been as impressive at Ibrox this season and is an avid Leeds United fan.
A year ago Rangers defender James Tavernier was discussing his future in Glasgow, with talk of an apparent bid from Leeds United circulating.
The attacking right-back was in brilliant form and catching the eye at Ibrox.
He played under the then Leeds boss Steve Evans at Rotherham United and was also a former Leeds youth-teamer, who remains an avid supporter of the club.

But speaking to the Daily Record on the 11th December 2015 the full-back confirmed that he would not be interested in a move to Leeds at that time:
“Steve Evans is a great guy. He is just under the gaffer at Rangers (Mark Warburton) as he also gave me the freedom to play.
“I had a great season under him, he’s a character. We had a brilliant time at Rotherham when we won promotion.
“I spoke to him before I signed for Rangers and he wished me well.
“But my full commitment is to Rangers. I am enjoying my football, my family has moved up and we are all enjoying the Glasgow experience.”
But a year down the line, should Leeds consider bringing him back to Elland Road again?

Tavernier’s stock at Rangers has fallen recently. His attacking exploits won him plaudits in the Scottish Championship but have not been as successful in the top-tier, as he has found himself blamed on occasions for some of the club’s flaky defending.
But he remains a set-piece specialist and with better players around him his attacking nature could make him a dangerous addition to a Championship side.
Leeds have a right-back already in Luke Ayling but in reserve are Gaetano Berardi, the injury-prone Swiss defender, or youngster Lewis Coyle, himself out for a long time with a knee injury.
Leeds might want to consider swooping for Tavernier again a year down the line, his answer could very well be different.
