Former Tottenham Hotspur star Darren Bent believes Heung-Min Son would walk into any starting XI in the Premier League – including that of Liverpool and Manchester City, speaking to talkSPORT (12 April, 9am).

It was a goal we’ve seen thousands of times before, yet there was still nothing Aston Villa could do to stop it.

Harry Kane drops deep, flicks a raking diagonal pass into the onruhing path of Spurs’ South Korean superstar. And Son just doesn’t miss chances like this. There are three certainties in life; Death, taxes, and Tottenham’s number seven rattling a one-v-one into the back of the net.

Finishing in trademark style past Emi Martinez on three seperate occasions, the former Bayer Leverkusen winger completed the most ruthless of hat-tricks in the Midlands as Antonio Conte’s side took pole position in the Champions League race.

And Bent believes that there is not a club in England who wouldn’t jump at the chance to bring Son on board.

And that, he says, includes a Liverpool side boasting perhaps the most feared forward line in world football; Mo Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.

Would Liverpool or Man City start Heung-Min Son?

“Yes, I think he does now,” Bent said when asked if Son would start for every club in the Premier League.

“I always used to think; ‘Hmm, would he get in (at Liverpool) ahead of Mane?’

“But Heung-Min Son, he steps up all the time. He scores goals, creates goals, can finish with either foot. On that left-hand side, I think he would get into any team now. City as well.

“He just carries such a goal threat, he’s intelligent with his movement, he consistently scores goals every season as well.

“I think you’d put him in there (at Liverpool and Man City).”

Son now has 17 goals in the Premier League this term. Just two more in Tottenham’s next seven games and 2021/22 will be the most prolific league campaign of his entire career.
