The Reds have had a disastrous campaign, with fears it could get a lot worse before it gets slightly better.

This international break has acted as a reflection period for Nottingham Forest fans, with their side in critical danger of being relegated from the Championship for the second time since they were relegated from the top flight in 1999.

The off field fiasco at The City Ground reached an all time low this season, with owner Fawaz Al Hasawi selling prize asset Oliver Burke behind then manager Philippe Montanier’s back the day after telling the Frenchman he was staying, while two separate takeover bids have fallen through.

Things on the pitch haven’t exactly been much better, with Forest just one point above the drop zone, and but for Dani Pinillos’ 94th minute header against Derby County to claim a 2-2 draw, the Reds would’ve entered the international break in the bottom three.

Mark Waburton is at least manager of the club now, after 11 matches with youth manager Gary Brazil in charge, and Forest fans will be hoping his experience of the Championship pays dividends at a crucial time of the campaign.

The Reds have already showed that they are taking Warburton’s methods well, and applied a fair few of them in that East Midlands clash with Derby – especially in the first half, where Forest looked like a team nowhere near the drop zone.

If they continue to take to Warburton’s style of play, then with the personnel the Reds have, they should be alright. However, nothing can be taken for granted in football, and Forest fans will be hoping this season finishes sooner, rather than later.
