Some Arsenal fans on social media have been reacting after The Independent reported Antonio Conte has very little interest in taking over at Arsenal.
Conte had been touted as a potential replacement for Mikel Arteta after the Spaniard’s poor start to the season, but now it seems as though it’s unlikely for the Italian to come to north London.
Conte apparently believes that Arsenal’s squad is not up to scratch, and to be fair, it’s hard to disagree with him.
This is a squad that has finished eighth for two consecutive seasons, and Conte has every right to aim higher than that. After all, he’s been a success at pretty much every club he’s been at.
As you can imagine, Arsenal fans had plenty to say about this update, and it’s fair to say they’re a bit gutted.
Conte and his patented 3-4-3 system could have absolutely transformed Arsenal, but if Arteta is to leave the Gunners, the London club may need to look towards another gaffer to replace him.
