According to ItaSportPress, Rangers value Alfredo Morelos at €20 million (£18.02 million), with Lazio interested in the striker also on the radar of Newcastle United.

The report in the Italian news outlet has claimed that Morelos is at the top of Lazio’s transfer wishlist in regard to a new striker.

It has also been reported that Rangers value the Colombia international at €20 million (£18.02 million), which will be of interest to Newcastle.

The Scottish Sun named in May Newcastle among a number of clubs in the Premier League who are interested in signing the 24-year-old striker in the summer transfer window.

Rangers stay?

While €20 million (£18.02 million) is a lot of money for Rangers, it is not going to be easy for Steven Gerrard’s side to replace Morelos if they sell him this summer, as he is a proven goalscorer in the Scottish Premiership.

With the Gers aiming to stop bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from winning the Scottish Premiership title next season, selling the 24-year-old would not be very wise.

Good signing for Newcastle United?

However, if a club like Newcastle, who have a massive fanbase and are established in the Premier League, come calling, then it could be too tempting to resist for the striker.

Joelinton is Newcastle’s first-choice striker at the moment, but he has struggled for goals, and the Magpies do need to sign another frontman.

Morelos scored 12 goals in the Scottish Premiership and eight goals in the Europa League for Rangers this past season, according to WhoScored.
