Tottenham can now be considered genuine title contenders, and with the right signings in the summer they can mount a serious push for the Premier League title next season.

Despite Tottenham Hotspur sitting in second place, the seven point gap separating themselves and Chelsea is probably too big of a margin to make up. With eight games to go, it is not completely out of the question that this season’s title could go to White Hart Lane but it is unlikely.

You feel that Spurs are close to being the finished product and next season may be their year. We take a look at potential cherry picked signings from every Premier League club, that could aid them in their bid for Premier League glory should they join.

AFC Bournemouth: Callum Wilson

Wilson has had his fair share of injury problems at the Vitality Stadium. He was ruled out with his second anterior cruciate ligament injury in two years. But when he hasn’t been on the treatment table, the 25-year-old has been impressive.

He has scored a respectable 34 goals in 84 games but has also contributed 14 assists for his side. The former Coventry City forward would be an ideal option for Pochettino’s side and he would be available for a more than affordable price.

Arsenal: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

You have to be a brave man to make the short move across North London. Few players have crossed the divide, with William Gallas the last to do so back in 2010.

Despite making over 187 appearances for the Gunners, the 23-year-old has failed to hold down a starting berth in the Gunners side. It may be time for the Ox to consider a move away from the Emirates in a bid for regular first time football and a move to White Hart Lane seems a perfect fit for the England international, even if it’s unlikely to happen.

Burnley: Michael Keane

Keane’s performances for the Clarets this season earned the centre half his first two England caps in March. The former Manchester United man is not short of suitors and a move from Turf Moor seems likely.

With his current deal set to run out next summer, Burnley may have to cash in on their prized asset rather than risk losing him on a free transfer. The lure of Champions League football next season would make a move to Tottenham an attractive proposition.

Chelsea: Willian

Spurs will be looking to strengthen their options on the wing and the Brazilian international would certainly be an upgrade on the injury ravaged Erik Lamela.

The 28-year-old has been in and out of Antonio Conte’s table topping Chelsea side and may start looking at other options if he is cannot hold down a starting place at Stamford Bridge. But would Tottenham fans forgive him for turning them down when he first moved to the Premier League? Unlikely.

Crystal Palace: Wilfred Zaha

Zaha has finally looked to have found his feet in the Premier League after being a stand-out performer for Palace this season. With six goals and nine assists to his name, a departure from Selhurst Park looks imminent and White Hart Lane is his most likely destination (Express).

Zaha’s spell at Manchester United did not go to plan and he will be looking to prove himself at a higher level. A move to Spurs will give him the chance to play in the Champions League and prove to United that they got it all wrong with him.

Everton: Ross Barkley

Barkley has come under criticism in recent weeks as many believe he has failed to kick on with his career since bursting onto the scene with Everton as an 18-year-old.

Everton fans have been left disappointed with his halt in progress. A move away from Goodison Park may have to be considered. The England international may look to a fresh start and Pochtettino, who has a good track record with developing young English players, could be the man to help realise the midfielder’s true potential.

Hull City: Harry Maguire

Maguire is another English centre-back who has impressed with his performances in his debut season in the Premier League.

The former Sheffield United man has been a mainstay in the Hull City defence and in recent weeks has helped his side climb out of the relegation zone. It seems that there is plenty more to come from the 24-year-old and he would not look out of place in the Tottenham defence.

Leicester City: Demarai Gray

The 20-year-old winger has been used largely as a substitute at the King Power stadium since signing from Championship side Birmingham City last January.

He has earned more starts for the Premier League champions in recent weeks and will be hoping for a consistent starting role in the first team. Gray has immense talent and has a bright future ahead of him but maybe his development can be sped up immensely under Pochettino.

Liverpool

It may be pushing the idea of ‘realistic’ to get this deal done, but wouldn’t Coutinho at the Lane add that little bit more attacking quality to an already impressive side? He’s worked under Pochettino before as well. The dreamiest deal on this list.

Manchester City: Kelechi Iheanacho

After a bright start to the season, Iheanacho has barely seen any first team action for Pep Guardiola’s City side in recent months and it seems that he is at a crossroads in his career.

The 20-year-old will be desperate for a run of games in a City shirt but if he is unable to do turn his fortunes around in Manchester, the Nigerian international may be searching for a new club. Spurs will be keen to bolster their forward options and he will provide good support for Harry Kane.

Manchester United: Phil Jones

After a promising start to his Manchester United career, Phil Jones’ career has been blighted by injuries and time is running out to prove that he can be a mainstay in the United defence.

The increased competition in the centre back position means that the 25-year-old cannot afford to fall victim to any other long term injuries. If a move away from Old Trafford does begin to materialise then Tottenham would be a great fit for the versatile England international.

Middlesbrough: Ben Gibson

Gibson has enjoyed a highly successful first season in the Premier League. Unfortunately for the 24-year-old, Middlesbrough look set for relegation back to the Championship after gaining promotion last season.

The Middlesbrough academy graduate earned a call-up to the national side last month and if relegation is confirmed then there will be a list of potential suitors waiting to lure Gibson away from the Riverside Stadium. The centre-back would be an ideal signing for Spurs to help bolster their defensive options.

Southampton: Manolo Gabbiadini

Gabbiadini has made a big impression down at St Mary’s since his big money move from Napoli in January and has six goals in five appearances for the Saints.

Southampton will not be looking to get rid of the 25-year-old so early on in his English football career but if his form continues then big money offers may be imminent. The Italian centre forward will be keen to play Champions League football and Tottenham will certainly be able to provide that opportunity.

Stoke City: Xherdan Shaqiri

The Swiss international has been unable to match last season’s exploits due to injuries. His move from the San Siro to the Bet 365 Stadium raised a few eyebrows and many believe that his future is at a higher level.

The 25-year-old’s performances last season were impressive and proved that he could cut it in England’s top tier. Shaqiri will be keen to play Champions League football again which he has at previous clubs and Tottenham’s need for new faces in the wide areas makes this move seem a plausible one.

Sunderland: Jermain Defoe

Defoe has already had two successful spells at White Hart Lane, so what harm could a third spell do? The 34-year-old is coming towards the end of his illustrious career and his return to the club would be welcomed.

His exploits for Premier League basement boys Sunderland has proven that he can still cut it at this level. Spurs need more options up front and what better signing would there be than a player who has already scored 139 goals for the club.

Swansea City: Fernando Llorente

The 32-year-old has enjoyed a productive first season in England after scoring 11 goals so far for the Premier League strugglers.

The towering centre forward has been a key figure in the Swansea side but relegation is a distinct possibility after the Welsh side have now dropped into the bottom three. If they are unable to beat the dreaded drop then Llorente will not be short of offers.

Watford: Troy Deeney

Deeney has an impressive goalscoring record for the Hornets. With 106 goals scored since moving to Vicarage Road in 2010, the forward is now the club captain. Despite his impressive performances, he has been unable to earn a call-up for England.

Deeney will be left wondering what he has to do to get in his chance in an England shirt after his latest snub from the national side. A move to White Hart Lane and the chance to showcase his talents on the European stage could potentially help him get the illustrious call up.

West Bromwich Albion: Matt Phillips

The Scotland winger made his move to the Hawthorns in the summer. He has been an ever-present in Tony Pulis’ side who have exceeded expectations by cementing their place in the top half of the Premier League table.

The 26-year-old has five goals and nine assists to his name so far and his impressive performances for West Brom this season will have been duly noted. A move for Phillips could prove to be a smart piece of business as he has proven Premier League experience and his transfer fee would not break the bank.

West Ham United: Winston Reid

Reid has been a stand out performer for the Hammers in recent years and this season has been no different. Unfortunately, he has been unable to help turnaround West Ham’s fortunes in the league this campaign.

The Hammers find themselves in the bottom half of the Premier League table following on from their eight placed finish last season. Reid, now 28-years-old, may now be considering his options. He has a list of potential suitors and the lure of Champions League football may be too good of an opportunity to pass up at this stage in his career.
