‘A real Rangers man’: Lee Wallace wants Kenny Miller’s situation resolved as soon as possible

Glasgow Rangers forward Kenny Miller seems to have endured a difficult time at Ibrox.

Lee Wallace has told Sky Sports that Kenny Miller is a real Rangers man, and that he wants the situation surrounding the veteran resolved as soon as possible.

Miller appears to be going through a turbulent time at Ibrox. The Daily Record reports that Miller was exiled from the first-team shortly after the first Old Firm meeting of the season at around the same time that Pedro Caixinha alluded to a dressing room mole.

And while he has since returned to the first-team squad, he was left out of the side that took on St Johnstone last Friday, with Caixinha suggesting that the 37-year-old was injured – a claim the Record reports has been refuted by those close to Miller.

And although Wallace did not shed any light on whether what has been reported has been accurate, or whether he felt that his manager or teammate had been right or wrong recently, he insisted that having Miller amongst the squad is extremely beneficial and thus, the situation needs resolving.

“I’ve got to make sure I’m really professional but I think that speaking of my friend and of a teammate, I can’t speak highly enough of what he’s done for my career and the amount of learning I’ve done off a top professional, a real Rangers man,” he told Sky Sports.

“I think I stressed around the time that he was due contract talks that we needed to keep Kenny at the club because he’s the type of person who’s going to drive everybody else around him, including myself, and I learn from him every day and I can just hope that any situation can get resolved as quickly as possible.”

Although Miller’s form on the pitch has probably not been up to scratch this season, he is undoubtedly an experienced professional who could surely help the club during this period of transition – as Wallace alluded to.

However, if Caixinha feels that having Miller around is detrimental to what he is trying to do – though there is no reason to believe that that is the case – then perhaps letting him go as soon as possible makes sense, even if not everyone agrees with that stance.
