Everton picked up their first win of the Premier League season as they defeated West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at The Hawthorns.
The Toffees, who drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day of the Premier League season, fell behind against the Baggies as defender Gareth McAuley opened the scoring for Tony Pulis’ side.

Everton hit back though, and after Kevin Mirallas had equalised on the stroke of half time, Ronald Koeman’s side snatched all three points thanks to a header from midfielder Gareth Barry.
With four points from the opening two games, Everton have enjoyed a strong start to life under Koeman, and the Dutchman was able to show off two of his new signings against West Brom.
Defender Ashley Williams came on to solidify the back line in the last ten minutes, but it was winger Yannick Bolasie who caught the eye.

The DR Congo international, 27, joined Everton from Crystal Palace earlier this week, and whilst he wasn’t in Koeman’s starting line-up against West Brom, he did enjoy an impressive cameo as a substitute.
Bolasie dazzled with his power and pace – two attributes that earned him huge praise at Palace – and teed up both Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku with golden opportunities after driving runs forward, only for both chances to be missed.

After the game, Everton fans were unsurprisingly impressed with Bolasie’s display, suggesting that he could be a match winner this season, and were pleased with his end product following the criticism he received at Palace.
Others suggested that Bolasie could have been man of the match if he played 90 minutes rather than just 30, and think he could provide a great supply of chances for Romelu Lukaku.
