Simon Grayson has said on BBC Radio 5 Live (4pm, November 7, 2021) that Leeds United winger Daniel James will eventually come good for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
The former Leeds manager believes that James, signed from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, will be a real asset.
Grayson made the comments about the 23-year-old Wales international after watching him in action for Leeds at the weekend.
Leeds played out a 1-1 draw with Leicester City at Elland Road in the Premier League on Sunday.
James started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes.
The winger was actually deployed upfront rather than out wide.
Grayson said about James on BBC Radio 5 Live (4pm, November 7, 2021), as transcribed by Inside Futbol: “Dan James was getting into positions which he does not feel comfortable with in terms of it is more central of the goal, his composure was lacking when he should have been hitting the target.
“I think he is going to be a player that is going to be a real asset to the club in the wide areas that you can flip and change sort of him and [Jack] Harrison at times with different occasions.”

How is Daniel James doing at Leeds United?
Leeds spent £25 million on James in the summer transfer window.
The winger has yet to make a huge impact at Elland Road.
The Leeds no. 20 has made seven starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Whites so far this season.
James has provided one assist in those games.
It is clear that the winger needs to do more.
James is quick and is very good at running at opposition players.
However, in our view, the 23-year-old still needs to deliver better balls and create more chances for his Leeds teammates.
