A QPR fan’s view on the Reading game – What a mess!

QPR fan Paul Moore gives his view on the club’s latest game without a win, and start to the season as a whole.

really was looking forward to playing Reading and I really thought the players and management would be ready to fight with blood, sweat and tears,

We looked like a team that had only just been introduced to one another and Mark Hughes will still tell you, “they need time to gel.” They need to learn how to pass the ball and run into space; not stand still and hope someone will tell them.

Just around the hour mark I looked at every player and nearly every one of them looked a spent force which tells me one of two things; either Hughes is training them too hard and needs to lay off or he isn’t training them hard enough and the fitness isn’t there. Either way it just isn’t working!

When the board first appointed Hughes I thought he’d be good for the club with plenty of ideas; I will admit now I was very wrong. His tactics are all wrong; he doesn’t know his best starting eleven and stupidly admitted that a few weeks ago.

In his defence he hasn’t had a settled side due to injuries and suspensions but he chose his 25 man squad so he really can’t use excuses as it happens to other teams.

Most teams have four strikers in the twenty five; Hughes named three and one of them is prone to injury so he had to go with four; Andy Johnson is one of those players that will get injured, so if I knew that as a fan why didn’t Hughes know that as a manager?

DJ Campbell is a fan of the club; a player that wants to win for the fans as well as the team. He will score goals and he is doing that at the moment; for Ipswich Town!

We needed to go one goal down to start playing yesterday; my question is why? We were playing a team who haven’t won a game in the Premier League this season; the same as ourselves.

We looked scared of mixing it up; our confidence is rock bottom and yet the side we played looked so much better at times and they were away from home.

Tony Fernandes and the board need to do something and soon before the situation is beyond all repair. I believe we will survive but Mark Hughes will not be the man leading us.

Who would you want to replace Hughes? How much longer should he be given?
