A QPR fan’s perspective on Chelsea v Bayern Munich

Do QPR fans want Chelsea to win tonight? Not a chance, local pride won’t allow it.

Tonight, Chelsea play Bayern Munich in Germany in the Champions League final. Chelsea will of course will be representing England and normally I’d want the English team to win; but not this time!

You see I support Queens Park Rangers and I don’t want our local rivals to be European Champions. They would never stop going on about it and I mean ever.

With the exception of Liverpool and Everton I don’t think any rival fans want the enemy to win at anything. Can you see Rangers wanting Celtic to win or Manchester City cheering on Manchester United?

The one thing I’m really happy about is John Terry is not able to play as he is suspended. He kneed the Barcelona player in the back and at first lied to try and cover up; great example to younger fans.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think I’d like John Terry if he played for any team including my own; I just don’t like cheats or liars but that’s a different story.

Can I see Chelsea winning? As much as it hurts me to say this and trust me it does, Chelsea did very well in beating for me the best team in the world in Barcelona.

They kept Messi quiet in both games and their defending at the Nou Camp, no thanks to Mr Terry, was text book.

But they are now facing a German team playing at their home ground; and I just can’t see it happening.

Having home support I think will act as the twelfth man; I know from experience of watching Chelsea at Loftus Road that they really don’t like the crowd on their back; they won’t have any choice on Saturday.

Now after saying that I really hope Chelsea play well and don’t roll over and die; Drogba will, but we all know that. I say this as Chelsea are representing the Premier League; the best league in the world by a country mile.

So I see one of two things happening; Chelsea lose by four or five goals and end up with nine men or it will be tight; the German side just edging it by the odd goal.

One thing for sure; for an hour and a half on later this evening I’m a Munich fan.
