Mahmoud ‘Trezeguet’ Hassan could leave Aston Villa if they are relegated from the Premier League this season, the winger’s agent has told Radyospor in quotes translated by Fanatik.
A £9 million Egyptian international might have sent Villa Park into raptures when he scored the most dramatic of stoppage-time strikes in the EFL Cup semi-final against Leicester City – but it’s fair to say such moments of match-winning glory have been few and far between.
That was one of just four goals Trezeguet has scored since moving to England last summer.
And with Aston Villa staring down the barrel of an immediate return to the Championship, the former Anderlecht and Kasimpasa forward has had to ensure his fair share of criticism with plenty of fans calling into question his exasperating lack of end-product.
Dean Smith’s side are now 19th in the table with seven fixtures remaining.
And, unless they can emulate Midland rivals West Brom by pulling off a great escape of epic proportions, Trezeguet could have just a month left in that claret and blue kit.
“The condition of Aston Villa at the end of the season will be decisive,” agent William D’Avila says.

“If Aston Villa falls into a lower league, a option (to leave) may occur. In this case, Galatasaray is a very important option.
“If the conditions arise, we will have a possibility to evaluate this transfer.”
D’Avila insists that he has not yet held talks with the 2019 Super Lig champions regarding a potential move to Istanbul.
But unless Aston Villa can start picking up the points as relegation looms, speculation over Trezeguet’s future is only going to intensify.
