The agent of reported West Ham United and Southampton target Alberth Elis has indicated that the Boavista forward would welcome a move to the Premier League this summer, while speaking to El Heraldo.
If you have been following developments closely in recent weeks, such claims will hardly have taken you by surprise.
Elis’s father revealed recently that the Honduras international ‘dreams’ of proving himself in the Premier League, with David Moyes’ West Ham and Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton eyeing a potential £9 million deal for the versatile front man (A Bola).
Elis only joined Boavista in September of last year, having caught the eye during his time at MLS outfit Houston Dynamo.
But the 25-year-old is already looking to up sticks and leave Portuguese football behind, his sights fixed firmly on English shores.
“Most likely, I will leave Boavista,” Elis said in May.
“My goal is to continue to evolve and look for bigger teams. I like the English league. When there is something concrete, I will soon be gone. If I have the opportunity to go to England I’ll take it.”
And while Elis’s agent was reluctant to give too much away, he did admit that a Premier League switch remains ‘a possibility’ with five weeks of the window remaining.
Will Alberth Elis get his dream move to West Ham or Southampton?
“We know that all footballers like the Premier League. It has the best teams. It is a possibility but the door is not closed to any other (league),” said Daniel Solis.

“The interest is real but we handle it silently so as not to hinder any possible negotiations.
“Alberth belongs to Boavista and his contract is running. We have to go little by little. Interest, yes, but we are analysing it.”
The Hoops had been mentioned has a potential destination for the one-time Monterrey man recently too, although the signings of Liel Abada and Kyogo Furuhashi appear to have drawn a line under that particular rumour.
