Leeds United fans think that Brighton & Hove Albion signing Joel Veltman could be a good omen, as they chase Ben White.

Leeds have had White on loan all season, and Sky Sports have now reported how they are keen to get him back again next term.

The problem is that Brighton boss Graham Potter has suggested the centre-back is now part of his side’s plans.

If Leeds are unable to land White this summer it would be a huge blow, given his importance in their promotion winning campaign.

But with Brighton opting to sign another defender in Veltman last night, some Leeds fans think that White’s exit may be edging closer.

Veltman is an intriguing signing for Brighton, as it means they are now extremely well stocked in defence.

Potter’s men already have Adam Webster, Dan Burn, Lewis Dunk, Shane Duffy, Matt Clarke and White who can all play at centre-back.

Veltman can also play there, although he is most comfortable on the right hand side of defence.

Leeds, meanwhile, only have limited options in central defence and if they are unable to land White they will surely switch their attention to landing another target at the back.
