Speaking on his YouTube channel, Alasdair Gold has been discussing some of Tottenham’s transfer targets, and he claims that Spurs are keen on Bristol City’s Alex Scott.
The teenager has enjoyed a breakout season for the Robins this year. He’s been a Championship regular, and it’s fair to say that he’s made his mark in the second-tier, grabbing four goals and two assists in what has been a brilliant debut campaign.
Understandably, his performances for City this season have caught the eye of bigger clubs, and Spurs are apparently keen to bring him in.
What’s been said?
Gold named Scott as a transfer target.
“Interestingly, at the other end of the scale, there’s a really young midfielder from the Championship that I know they really like, Alex Scott, an 18-year-old who plays for Bristol City. He primarily plays as a right midfielder, but he can also play through the centre. He’s played 38 times last season, scored four and two assists. At the moment, Bristol City’s valuation of him is higher than what Spurs want to play, so there’s no movement right now, but keep an eye on that one because he’s a player they like,” Gold said.

Risky
Tottenham have a long history of scouting and signing players from the EFL, but sadly, they don’t always get it right.
Dele Alli was, of course, a huge success story after he arrived from MK Dons. But at the same time, Jack Clarke has been a bit of a bust since he arrived from Leeds United, while Ryan Sessegnon probably lies somewhere in the middle of that spectrum when you consider how much Spurs paid for him.
Scott is just 18 with one year of Championship football behind him, so it’s hard to accurately judge his ability at this point, but it’s fair to say that this one may be something of a risk for Spurs.
