Amadou Haidara does appear to be a Leeds United player.

Leeds United had a quiet transfer deadline day, signing only one first team player, Eunan O’Kane.

There was also confusion around a second potential addition, with a player named Amadou Haidara posting on Instagram that he had signed for the Whites.

No announcement followed, and little information has emerged surrounding him. His social media post was later deleted, although he is still listed as a Leeds player in his profile.

And it appears Leeds did sign him after all – or are at least taking a look at him on an extended trial.

In last night’s under-23 game between Leeds and Ipswich, Haidara was named as a substitute.

Ipswich Town’s official website confirmed the team selections, with Ronaldo Vieira’s brother Romario Vieira another notable name on the bench.

The match was not a positive one for Leeds’ young side, ending in a 4-0 defeat, with Ipswich fielding experienced ex-Leeds striker Luke Varney.

Leeds’ team boasted young striker Frank Mulhern, Eoghan Stokes and Mallik Wilks, hinting none of them will feature for the first team against Blackburn in the EFL Cup this evening.
